WAP Portal & Infrastructure Launch (June 2000)

We undertook the project management role on the implementation of the WAP offering for MSI's ISP Services. This involved the management of activities spanning a total of three vendors (Carrier2Carrier, Siemens and Ericsson) as well as in-house staff. The project team spanned two continents and five countries, with two of the countries being in Africa. The engagement was therefore a significant cultural, as well as logistical challenge. The project was a remarkable success despite the obvious challenges.

This resulted in, probably, the first WAP implementation in Africa by June 24th 2000. This project enabled the browsing of WAP-sites and access to e-mail via mobile phones from Congo-Brazzaville.
